#OP HURRICANE ARREST

At 1800hrs on Thursday the 16th of July 2026 PS 7402 LAYTON has been on patrol on Hollins Road, Oldham when he has sighted an illegally modified E-scotter with an unsteady rider ahead of him. 

After a short pursuit the driver (56 year old male) was detained on Lilac Lane in Limeside and was subjected to a roadside breath test where he provided a positive sample of 66mg per 100ml of breath which is almost double the drink drive limit. He was arrested for:

Driving over the prescribed alcohol limit

No insurance

No licence

He awaits his day in court

The scooter was seized by police and will likely be crushed.
